The dates given are approximate, but should be close.
Around 1990, Dr. Fischer invented the Salut 1 which was arguably the first mat-based PEMF system. There were "other" PEMF systems going back to Nikola Tesla, but this was a true home unit safe for home use.
Unfortunately, Dr. Fischer was not a very good marketer and partnered with a savvy businessman named Mario Hintemayer. Mario was the founder of Vitalife and wanted to help Dr. Fischer to distribute this technology on a larger scale.
For reasons I do not fully understand this partnership was short lived and Mario approached a Manufacturer called the ROB group and asked them if they could produce a similar machine.
Under the guidance of now world renowned PEMF expert, Dr. Christian Thuille M.D. the vitalife MRS 2000 evolved and was refined to include mainly earth based frequencies.
Dr. Thuille's books remain bestsellers on PEMF in Germany to this day for practitioners and laypeople both (Its important to note that Dr. Fischer is not a medical doctor).
Fischer did try to file lawsuits against Vitalife but lost on all occasions. Dr. Fischer also ended up in jail.
The Salut 1 ended up becoming the Quantum Resonance System or Quantron Resonance System (QRS) and in this authors opinion remains the 2nd best PEMF available today after the MRS 2000.
So the Salut 1 (becoming the QRS) began in 1990, the Vitalife MRS 2000 (now the MRS 2000+ designo) began in 1993 and the Bemer 3000 was a later comer a few years later.
In 2001, Vitalife decided to make their own PEMF devices which were no longer based on Dr. Thuille's advice and research and slowly went downhill. Vitalife continues to struggle to this day.
Wolfgang Jaksch, a leading distributor of Vitalife and visionary entrepreneur was dissatisfied with the new machine and the leadership in the Vitalife company so he approached the ROB group to continue production of the MRS 2000 only now with new upgrades and better performance, but remaining true to sticking to the research proven frequencies and intensities of the earth shown by Dr. Thuille's clinical experience to be the most effective.
The MRS 2000, QRS and Bemer all share similar origins and are the clear leaders in the field of affordable and research proven PEMF.
The clear advantage of the MRS 2000 is that, although its not the original, it is an improvement on the original in the direction of earth inspired frequencies and NASA proven square wave technology on the applicators.
All three companies strive to continuously improve and further PEMF research and development and are really the only 3 to consider when buying a PEMF device in the $3000-$4000 range.
